TONY SADIKU is an emmy-nominated Meteorologist at CBS News New York.

Formally trained in Broadcasting and Meteorology, Sadiku holds a Masters degree in Applied Meteorology from Mississippi State University.

“I have seen the best and worst of Mother Nature, and in the process I’ve taken viewers through floods, wildfires, hurricanes and tornadoes. Of note in Florida was Hurricane Irma. While our station had to evacuate and broadcast remotely, myself and a small crew of reporters took people to where the storm made landfall as a category 3 hurricane in the Naples [Florida] area,” he contends. 

“While in North Carolina, I got a chance to cover Hurricane Dorian on the ground and in the air. I flew with the Hurricane Hunters on their mission into Dorian while it was a borderline category 5 battering the Bahamas. It was later named the strongest storm to make landfall in the Bahamas. I then traveled with a local nonprofit providing aid to those who lost everything on Grand Bahama and on the Abacos Islands and told stories from the hardest hit areas.” 

Tony has a passion for weather, and teaching young audiences about Environmental Science. “This is what I love to do – I’m passionate about how weather impacts our lives and breaking down the complex science to be relatable to the average person.” 

Along with his advocacy work in climate justice, Sadiku supports numerous organizations over the years through volunteering, which includes his work with QC Family Tree, Habitat for Humanity, Junior Achievement and the Pan Florida Challenge for Hungry Kids.
